Consortium

The combination of resources from an internationally recognized research group (Universidad Carlos III), one of the major national hospitals dedicated to research and innovation, capable of establishing user requirements, testing, and swiftly validating developments achieved (Gregorio Marañón Hospital in Madrid), and one of the few national companies in the sector (SEDECAL), which is an undisputed leader in the field of medical imaging (particularly in conventional radiology systems), ensures the convergence of the right resources to achieve highly innovative developments that can reach international commercial exploitation in a very short period of time.

The consortium members have maintained a fruitful collaboration for over 14 years. The synergy between manufacturing engineering and the scientific innovation resulting from this collaboration has led to more than 60 scientific publications, 4 active patents, and 8 software registrations, as well as 54 high-performance PET and PET/CT scanners installed in the global market, at prestigious institutions such as Johns Hopkins, NIH, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in the United States; the Universities of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Taiwan in Asia; and ETH, Aberdeen University, and CNIO in Europe.
